Carol Hooks has over 25 years of public health experience on various topics including: cancer prevention, HIV/AIDS, immunization, malaria, maternal and child health, reproductive health, and substance abuse prevention. She has a unique ability to transfer complex issues into the forefront of public discourse.
She has collaborated with several prominent institutions, in the academic, non-profit, private, and public sectors, utilizing situational analyses, program assessments, and communications needs assessments for research-based program planning. Her diverse international experience and numerous publications have included projects and programs in 23 countries. Throughout her career, she has helped to secure over $200 Million USD in grants, proposals, and contracts for major global health organizations.
Currently, she serves as Senior Communication Specialist with The World Bank Group in Washington, DC, where she formulates and implements comprehensive communications strategies for the Africa Region’s HIV/AIDS program.
